PMO unCON is not a conference where you sit and listen. It is two days of facilitated conversation between PMO leaders — the agenda is shaped by the participants, and every format is built around exchange between the people in the room.

After Paris, Istanbul and San Diego, PMO unCON returns in 2027 with two editions — Americas and EMEA.

What is a PMO unconference?

Everything you need to know before 2027 — the format, the audience and why PMO unCON runs in two editions.

An unconference, not a conference

A PMO unconference inverts the traditional event model. There is no fixed line-up of keynote speakers talking at an audience: the agenda is built on site by the people who show up. Participants propose the topics they are struggling with — PMO operating models, portfolio prioritisation, AI in project delivery, value measurement, stakeholder resistance — and the room self-organises into parallel, facilitated conversations around them.

The result is closer to a working session between peers than to a lecture. Every attendee is expected to contribute, which is why PMO unCON keeps the group deliberately small compared with a mass-market project management conference.

Why two editions in 2027

After editions in Paris, Istanbul and San Diego, PMO unCON returns in 2027 with two separate editions: one for the Americas and one for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Demand for the format has outgrown a single event, and travel across regions keeps many PMO leaders out of the room.

Two editions keep each group small enough for real conversation while making the event reachable for far more of the community. Dates, host cities and venues are being finalised and will be announced on this page.

Who attends a PMO leaders summit like this

The room is intentionally mixed: PMO directors and heads of PMO, portfolio and transformation leaders, PMO consultants and advisors, and project and programme managers who are shaping the way delivery works in their organisation. Roughly half of the value of the two days comes from the sessions — the other half from the people you meet between them.
